Heavy-Duty Dump Truck Bodies
Type of dump truck bodies light-, medium- and heavy-duty is determined by the length and capacity of the body, and the chassis on which it is mounted.
Heavy-duty dump bodies are the most robust and largest class of dump truck bodies, engineered for the most demanding and rigorous applications. They are typically mounted on Class 8 truck chassis, which are the largest trucks allowed on public highways, and are a staple in industries where large volumes of heavy, abrasive materials are routinely hauled.
Heavy-duty dump truck bodies mounted on Class 8 chassis feature lengths ranging from 9 ft. to 24 ft., side heights from 26 inches to 70 inches, and capacities from 10 cu. yd. to 30 cu. yd.
These vehicles are the workhorses of large-scale operations and are built to withstand immense stress and punishment. Their main applications include construction, mining and quarrying, infrastructure, & waste & recycling.
As with light- & medium/heavy-duty dump bodies, the class 8 heavy-duty dump bodies are manufactured in carbon steel/stainless steel and aluminum.
Heavy-duty dump bodies are configured as standard dump truck, and super dump truck bodies.
Super dump trucks are standard dump trucks with a trailing, self-steering axle that allows the truck to carry a heavier legal payload on the highway.
