Parcel Delivery Van bodies/PDVs, or cutaway van bodies, are mounted as “body-on-frame” vans on Class 3 and 4 cutaway chassis. These feature a walk-through design. These bodies are popular for parcel delivery—hence the term parcel delivery vans (PDVs). Parcel delivery vans typically have a walk-through feature, which allows the driver access to the rear cargo area from inside the cab. These chassis have an opening cut through the rear wall for access to the cargo area. In certain cases, the driver cab is separated from the rear cargo area by a wall.

The price of parcel delivery van bodies primarily depends on the length and the height of the body. These units are mostly standardized, with not much difference in price across manufacturers.

PDVs are less expensive compared to box vans. However, these units cannot haul as much cargo as a box van body. The engine of the cutaway chassis on which PDVs are mounted is less powerful, and the weight capacity of the chassis is lower than that of box van bodies.
