Medium-/Heavy-Duty Dump Truck Bodies

Type of dump truck bodies light-, medium- and heavy-duty is determined by the length and capacity of the body, and the chassis on which it is mounted.

Medium/heavy-duty dump bodies are truck beds built for a wide range of commercial applications that require more capacity and durability than light-duty models, but without the scale and expense of a heavy-duty, over-the-road dump truck.

Medium-/heavy-duty dump bodies include bodies mounted on Class 4 to Class 6 chassis and heavy duty bodies mounted on Class 7 chassis. These include Ford F-650, Freightliner M2, or International CV series.

Bodies mounted on Class 4 to 6 chassis features lengths ranging from 8 ft. to 12 ft., side heights from 26 inches to 30 inches, and capacities from 5 cu. yd. to 8 cu. yd.

Bodies mounted on Class 7 chassis feature lengths ranging from 9 ft. to 24 ft., side heights from 26 inches to 70 inches, and capacities from 10 cu. yd. to 30 cu. yd.

The body is lifted by a powerful hydraulic hoist, typically a telescoping or scissor-style cylinder, mounted between the chassis frame and the body’s understructure.

Medium/heavy-duty dump bodies are versatile workhorses found in numerous industries, including construction, public works & municipalities, landscaping, and waste management.

Medium/heavy-duty dump bodies are manufacturing in carbon steel/stainless steel and aluminum.

Common accessories include cab protectors, tarp systems (manual or electric), and various types of sideboards to increase the body’s volume.
